Are you a Starman? (4 things about Elon Musk’s leadership)

SpaceX launched Falcon Heavy for the first time on 7th of February 2018. Elon Musk’s Tesla Roadster was the payload. Starman is the dummy driver. Now, it orbits our Sun. This is what this grand act of SpaceX and Elon Musk teaches humans about leadership.

Live to create or create to live?

Elon Musk teaches us not to live with the aim of leaving something behind but to live to leave something ahead of you. So that he has become one to meet his certain future, now.

Live for your future

Many live now so that they may be remembered by others in the future. Musk lives in the future so that many may be able to follow him in the present.

Test your big dream on a large public scale

The whole symbolic act of publicly testing your dream is something to learn from Musk. He dared to bet 90 million dollars publicly for a dream while others try to erase their traces of existing wrong deeds.

Starve for learning

During the press conference following Heavy Falcon’s launch, he appeared as a teacher eager to learn. Many of us are students fed up with learning anymore but trying to teach others.

There’s a starman waiting in the sky

He’d like to come and meet us

But he thinks he’d blow our minds

There’s a starman waiting in the sky

He’s told us not to blow it

Cause he knows it’s all worthwhile

He told me:

Let the children lose it

Let the children use it

Let all the children boogie

(David Bowie, Starman)
